My latest Winnipeg Sun column, in which I slag my alma mater for a very stupid political correctness initiative.

President Obama pressures congressional Republicans to pass his mortgage refinancing plan. Because five or 10 billion is excessive now. I’m glad someone figured that out.

Former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) doesn’t even have the balls to tell Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that his “bomb graphic” was crappy. He’d handle this Iran thing well, I think, don’t you?

Meanwhile, Obama and Netanyahu also have a talk, resulting in another commitment to bilateral decision-making. At this point, given everyone’s assumption that they hate each other, that might have been all either one needed to say.

Romney promises to win Pennsylvania and the presidency. At least he’s not building up his expectations too high or anything.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), who played Obama in mock debates in 2008, performs the same duty for the Romney campaign. Based on his techniques, I’m starting to think this guy would be more effective as a political consultant than a senator.

The Obama administration’s latest stab at immigration reform: Same-sex partners will now be recognized as relatives. How many at risk of deportation come from countries that legalized same-sex unions?

Rep. Todd “Too Stupid to Breathe” Akin (R-MO) is under fire AGAIN, this time for complaining that opponent Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) isn’t “ladylike.” Women across America will now be as unladylike as possible within 100 feet of Akin.

Reps. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) and Henry Waxman (D-CA) want the House to return to work. You know what would be awesome? A “Go back to the Hill and fix this shit” campaign. That’s all anyone would need to say to a lawmaker on the stump.

George Soros promises to donate $1.5 million to Democratic-linked super PACs. Conspiracy theorists everywhere have just experienced simultaneous mental implosions.

Canada is asked if Chinese companies are behind cyberattacks on a domestic energy company. Considering a domestic energy company was just sold to China, that sounds pretty ridiculous. Environmentalist Anonymous types are likelier culprits.

Libyan citizens want a real military and independent militias out of their country. They might not have much real power at this point, but it gives you hope, doesn’t it?

Poland is the latest European country to deal with mass protests over austerity. They should deal; the way Europe spends, austerity was bound to happen this decade.
